My spouse is taking on the burden of this move - how will you make this easier on our family?

Easy PPM is a true military mover with a century of experience. Many of our team members are military spouses or veterans themselves and understand intimately how the process works. We use this knowledge to ease the transition, taking the burden of details and logistics on your behalf.

What are the benefits of the containerized shipping program?

Our container program is an example of the choice we provide to our military customers. While it is still a full-service move (we load the container for you, transport and unload at destination), it is a program that many customers may prefer:

A small, containerized shipment can be expedited
Exclusive use (up to 30 days), not comingled with others’ goods
Extra peace of mind, as you can use your own locks
More specific date ranges and shipping times can be provided

Note: However, it is important to understand that the container program is only available in certain markets and for certain sized moves. Please ask for more information so our team can determine if your move is eligible.

What is a video survey and why do I need one?

First of all, our estimates are no-cost and no-obligation. We will set up a time to provide you with a video survey, where you have a video call with one of our team members, and they will lead you through the survey process. We can also set you up to self-survey, where you perform it yourself and provide us with the information.

In either option, you’ll be going through your home, marking what is going and what is not, measuring larger items as needed, and essentially estimating the weight of your household goods haul. From there, our expert team looks at the information provided, your budget, the particulars of your move, and then we present a personal moving plan we think is going to work best for you.

For those worried about data security with a video survey, our platform requires mandatory encryption. It uses industry-standard SSL encryption for data in transit. All SSL configurations are routinely monitored by a third-party service to ensure compliance with current best practices.

This ensures your data is protected, while also providing a convenient digital record of your home and household goods.

What does it mean to be an agent or local office of Atlas Van Lines?

It is actually a group of moving companies across the country, working together to complete long distance moves, since a single moving company can’t have locations in all cities. These independently owned “agents” or “offices” fulfill long-distance moves across state lines to get unlimited reach across the country.

For example, while Easy PPM or our parent company, Suddath, may have a local branch in the city you’re moving from, we may reach out to a trusted Atlas network partner to help fulfill the destination delivery of the move. Because that company is also an Atlas agent, we can be sure that they follow the same strict training, safety and licensing regulations.

What happens if you damage my home or items?

Accepted Answer

Feel confident knowing you are hiring a trusted and experienced mover, with staff trained and equipped to protect your belongings and property. We take care of you at every step, taking extra precautions in your home and providing specialized packaging and crating as needed.

However, most military families have done enough moves to know that even under the best of circumstances, damage can happen. In the event you need to file a claim, know that we have established a claims process where you will not be handed off or ignored. Our team includes an in-house Claims Manager who advocates for you, working directly with the van line on all claims.

What is the valuation/liability coverage for my shipment?

We have customers list anything over $3,000 for valuation coverage. We also always advise that you check with your homeowners insurance to see what is covered prior to a move, and seek outside insurance for anything of particular concern.

Will you provide a weight ticket so I'm able to be compensated for my PPM?

Accepted Answer

Do not worry at all about receiving a weight ticket. We completely understand the military’s requirements of a PPM and will ensure you get everything you need, including weight tickets, in order to be properly compensated for you move.

We can even help advise you on the best ways to weigh your own goods that you are hauling in your vehicle, so you aren’t missing out on including that weight in your overall total.

Will your moving team understand my concerns during a PPM?

We have established a dedicated military moving team specially trained in the unique requirements and challenges of military relocations. Many of them have military backgrounds and have personally experienced a PCS move as a service member, spouse or family member. I already have my move scheduled in DPS. Would I need to cancel it in order to do a PPM?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you would need to cancel your move in DPS and set it back up as a PPM move. If you leave it as an HHGs move as you have in the system, the military will assign a company to you, and without changing to a PPM they may deny paying your incentive payment. Setting it up as a PPM will also generate your estimated incentive payment amount and will make filing your PPM paperwork easier.
